| The Mice who ate Christmas
Marton cum Grafton Village Hall, 7.30pm.
Presented by Badapple Theatre
It's nearly Christmas and Edna and Wilbur are having problems getting into the Christmas spirit. That's because they are two particularly hungry village mice, who find themselves on an extraordinary winter journey. Seduced by an advert at the bus stop for 'Switzerland - Land of Cheese', they set sail for the country where the streets are paved with cheese, where the rivers run brimful of chocolate and the mountains themselves are made of Toblerone.
Sheltering on arrival in a village church, they eat through the church organ bellows by mistake, forcing a pure young curate to present his Christmas song on the guitar. News of the eccentric new song reaches the ear of the King and a futile search of the composer ensues, until our heroic mice get the chance to repay the young man's favour.

Cinema in Arkendale - Summer in February
Arkendale Community Hall, 7.30pm
See recent release films in high definition. Courtesy of Cine Yorkshire
This showing will be Summer in February (cert: 15, 100 mins)
The Newlyn School of artists flourished at the beginning of the 20th Century and the film focuses on the wild and bohemian Lamorna Group, which included Alfred Munnings and Laura and Harold Knight. The incendiary anti-Modernist Munnings, now regarded as one of Britain's most sought-after artists, is at the centre of the complex love triangle, involving aspiring artist Florence Carter-Wood and Gilbert Evans, the land agent in charge of the Lamorna Valley estate. True - and deeply moving - the story is played out against the timeless beauty of the Cornish coast, in the approaching shadow of The Great War.
Director: Christopher Menaul. Stars: Dominic Cooper, Emily Browning, Dan Stevens
£5 admission, pay on the door. Sound enhanced by Hearing Loop facility. There will be a bar with drinks, refreshments and ices on sale during the evening - opens 7.00pm.

Each man approaches the adventure with private motives but the wonders and terrors of the place draw them together as they are forced to confront the unbelievable truth!
Zany zoologists on a prehistoric plateau, ape-men, madcap balloon rides and a pterodactyl loose in London. How can it be done on stage?

This is an open meeting for all electors in the Parish so if there are any items you would like to raise please do come along and have your say!
The Annual Parish Meeting follows the Parish Council AGM and a Parish Council Meeting.
The Parish Meeting, which all parishioners are encouraged to attend, provides a very valuable opportunity to raise matters of concern or interest to all.
The Parish Councillors will welcome a good attendance and also the chance to meet new people in the village who may as yet not know how the Council is run.
This is a much more informal meeting than the usual Parish Council meetings and it provides a much-needed opportunity for the electors in the parish to come and discuss matters of their choosing. Free tea and coffee will be provided.
