Thursday 30th March

The Disappearing Hedgehog

Memorial Hall, Marton, 7pm.

Dr Toni Bunnell is giving a talk on the subject of 'The Disappearing Hedgehog'.

Dr Bunnell is a wildlife biologist who lectured at Hull University for over 16 years & her talks are always hugely interesting & informative so I hope as many of you as possible can make it. In addition to her local talks she has also featured on Countryfile & The One Show.

Anecdotal evidence suggests the population is in decline, as is the case nationally, so we are hoping this talk will focus some light on their plight, and crucially give residents of our villages the information & motivation to adapt their gardens & hopefully reverse the trend.

Any donations towards hedgehog care in Yorkshire & the Humber gratefully received.

The Tree and Hedgerow project itself will be the subject of the next grant application this summer and the surveyors have been out and about looking at the opportunities. They are coming to present their findings and this is everybody's opportunity to hear what they have to say and to comment on the proposals before their report is finalised, approved by the Parish Council and the application worked up and submitted.

This open meeting at the Bluebell will be an opportunity discuss the options. Please feel free to extend this invitation to anyone resident in the parish who may be interested.
